Slot Machines Tips

Playing Slot Machine is never easy, yes you enjoy and win, but there are some tips that you must know in playing slots. here are some tips from CasinoJR for you to be guided...

TIP#1 - Stay away from the giant, progressive slot machines -- those that are linked to other progressive machines in other casinos such as "Quartermania." The odds are incredibly low that you will hit a jackpot on these types of machines. Quite possibly, the odds of you winning your state lottery are better than the odds you'll get playing the giant, linked progressives.

TIP#2 - Do NOT pick slot machines randomly. This is a sure-fire way to exhaust your bankroll in short order. The casinos will LOVE you, but your wallet will NOT!

TIP#3 - Play within your comfort zone. That is to say, if slamming coins/tokens into a $5 slot machine makes you nervous, then try a $1 machine instead. If pumping your hard-earned money into a $1 slot machine makes you break out in hives ... go to a quarter machine, etc.

TIP#4 - Gamble in "sessions." Set a time limit or a spending limit (or both) and STICK TO IT!! I know, I know!!! More easily said than done. But, if you are EVER going to win playing casino slot machines, you MUST develop some self-discipline. You may play as many sessions as you wish. If it were me, I'd break up the sessions with a show, a drink at the bar, or dinner ... and then begin a new session on a new slot machine I had discovered, or perhaps even try a different casino altogether. It's entirely up to you. Let your bankroll be your guide.

TIP#5 - Always insert maximum coins whenever possible for best pay-outs. If your slot machine has a maximum play of 5 coins at a time for a single pull ... put in 5. If it's 3 ... play 3 ... and so forth. If you find yourself depleting your bankroll at an alarming rate, find a good machine with decent pay-outs that has a 2-coin maximum input for each pull of the handle.

TIP#6 - If your entire focus is only on locating slot machines with tremendously high top jackpots, you are overlooking a key element to your overall success.  While the amount of the top jackpot is certainly important, you must also make sure that the mid-level pay-outs (those under the top jackpot) are substantial.  OK ... WHY?. Two reasons:

The odds for hitting the mid-level jackpots are MUCH better than they are for hitting the top jackpot.  And, you will hit them MORE OFTEN.
Given that #1 is true, then the mid-level jackpots or pay-outs must be large enough to sustain your playing session as you pursue the top jackpot.

TIP#7 - Experiment with different playing strategies. There are several excellent slot machine playing strategies available to you. Use the Site Navigator below and click on the "Playing Strategies" link to see what they are and how they work.

Onlice Sic Bo Guide

In the Asian region, Sic Bo is one of the most played games. This is here in CasinoJR,  we are including it in our live game tournament. Sic Bo, however, tends to intimidate many players, most especially those who will be playing this game for the first time. Thus, the question, how is Sic Bo played?

Sic Bo and other dice game
Sic Bo uses three dice and you have to predict its outcome after they have been rolled. Usually, in other dice games, it is the player that rolls the dice. But this is a bit different in Sic Bo. Here, the dealer uses the so-called “dice shaker,” where the dice are placed. This oval-shaped platform vibrates in order to shake the three dice. Once done, it shall reveal the outcome.

The sic bo table

In order to win big in sic bo, you need to understand its table layout. One of the first things that you will notice is a row of numbers from 1 to 6. This is located at the bottom of the table. This row represents the number bets.

Meanwhile, in the middle portion, you will find images of two dice combinations. You will also see labels such as 1:6, 1:8 etc. Now, this is where you can place your pair bets.

Lastly, on the topmost part of the table, you will see labels such as small, big and any triple. When you place your bets there, it means that you are trying to predict the outcome of the three dice.

Indeed, if you look carefully, sic bo’s table layout is not that confusing at all. It is because, all the possible bets that you can make are already stated in the layout. This is in stark contrast to other table games where you need to check charts or guides.

Do you want to put your sic bo knowledge to a test? Join CasinoJR’s live tournament today! Experience the best of live sic bobaccaratblackjack and roulette in one click! Become one of our top players and bring home exciting rewards NOW.

Bad Ways to Play Good Casino Games

By Frank Scoblete

Casinos are filled with his type, losers who make the worst choices in the games they play and the strategies they employ. They are soldiers of Dame Fortune who are, unfortunately, their own worst enemies; snipers with twisted rifles who shoot themselves in the feet every time they pull the trigger. There isn't a table game where they aren't. They can secure defeat out of the jaws of victory every time. On the machines they'll put back all their wins and chalk it up to: "You can't win on slots anyway so what's the use?"You've met this guy before. He's cantankerous, witless, and loud. He knows everything about everything when it comes to casino games. He's a self-made expert who knows more than all writers and mathematicians combined, and as he doubles on his thirteen against the dealer's ten upcard, he scowls: "I know how to play from experience!" His face looks as if he's recently stormed a beach in Normandy. His ATM card looks even worse. It's battered and bruised with very little life left in it.

Now, it's no secret to readers that casinos offer good games and bad games. Certainly baccarat is a good game. Certainly, the Big Wheel isn't. However, there are some games where the player's choices decide what's good and bad. For example, craps offers good bets and bad bets and it's up to the players to distinguish which is which and bet accordingly. Played properly, blackjack is one of the very best casino games; played stupidly, it is one of the deadliest. Even the much maligned slots have better and worse ways to approach them.
This article is dedicated to the "don't" of gambling -- as in "Please don't do this!" It is a war manual for those who are sick of being taken prisoner or dying ingloriously on the plains of chance.
BLACKJACK
The very best way to play blackjack is to memorize the basic strategy and play it with no variation whatsoever. Most casinos will have an approximately one-half percent edge on you in multiple-deck games if you do. The very worst plays in blackjack are often plays that seem right such as standing on your 16 when the dealer has a 7 up; splitting your 10s when the dealer shows a six; not splitting your two 8s when the dealer has a nine or ten up, and not splitting a pair of aces when the dealer shows an ace. The insurance bet is a bad bet that many players make in the mistaken belief that they are helping themselves protect their good hands of 20 or their blackjacks.
And don't listen to players who tell you not to hit your 12 against the dealer's two or three. Hit it. Finally, some players mimic the dealer's rules for hitting and standing in the mistaken notion that, since the casino invariably wins at blackjack, mimicking the dealer will assure them of winning as well. Well, this is one case where what is good for the goose is deadly for the gander. Imitate the dealer's rules for hitting and standing and you'll get flattened. Why? Because you have to make your decisions before the dealer and if you bust and the dealer busts -- you still lose! That gives the house over a six percent edge!
CRAPS
Here is a game that has some of the very best bets in the casino and some of the very worst. If you make a steady diet of the bad bets, your bankroll will become anorexic. What are the no-no bets? Avoid the all one-roll Crazy Crapper bets such as the 2, 3, 11, 12, Any Craps, C&E, Any Seven, whirl, world, hops, horn and the Field; stay away from the hardways, too, because if you don't it will go hard with your wallet. Don't place your faith in the place bets of 4 or 10 and 5 or 9 as they come in with edges of 6.67 percent and four percent, respectively. Stick to the humdrum of playing the pass/don't pass; come/don't come with the maximum in odds that you can afford. In Tunica casinos, you can place the six or eight in multiples of $6 and you can buy the four or ten for $25 and only pay the commission if you win. These are all good bets.
ROULETTE
Most casinos have double-zero roulette wheels as a staple on the gaming menu. The worst possible bet at double-zero roulette is the Five Number Bet (0, 00, 1, 2, 3), also known as the "Beast with Five Numbers," which comes in with an edge over seven percent. What is the house edge on all other bets at double zero roulette? An unhealthy 5.26 percent. However, if you can find a single-zero wheel, then this is the wheel to play as the house edge is only 2.7 percent. That's not great but it is almost twice as good as the double-zero wheel.
BACCARAT
Great game...if you stick to making Bank or Player bets only. These come in with edges slightly over one percent. But there's an ugly duckling among those two swans -- the Tie bet, which comes in with a house edge of 14 percent! Awful. If you can find it, try to play the full-blown baccarat and not the mini version. Why? Because the mini version is so fast that its speed makes the tiny edges on Bank and Player as sharp as a serpent's tooth and almost as deadly.
CARIBBEAN STUD AND LET IT RIDE
Like blackjack, these two new games allow players to make choices that actually affect the house edge. There are very simple basic strategies for both games that must be utilized in order to cut the house edges down to somewhat manageable proportions. If you don't use the correct strategies at these games, you can be giving the house edges that scratch at double digits, and I don't think any sane person is itching to do that. But what should you avoid at both games? That dollar side bet! It has a house edge around 25 percent -- and will cost you about $15 per hour in the long run.
SLOTS
Do you want the best chance to come home with some money this afternoon or tonight? If you do, the very worst machines to play are the giant progressives as the casinos will have edges of 10-15 percent on them. We know that the idea of a life-changing event is very powerful but, really, only around 150 people have actually won Megabucks in the past 16 years because they face odds of over 49 million to one against them. Stick to slot machines that don't have progressive meters and you'll be better off.
VIDEO POKER
If you know what you are doing, video poker can be one of the best bets in the casino. If you don't know what you're doing, you might be better off playing the progressive slot machines! Each video poker paytable requires a different strategy. These strategies can be found in any good book on video poker, including my own Victory at Video Poker.
The bottom line of smart casino play is actually the bottom line -- money. Play the best games and utilize the best strategies and you'll have an excellent shot at the casino's money; play stupidly and you'll have an excellent shot at shooting yourself in the foot!

Blackjack - How to Play and Win At The Exciting Game of Blackjack

Blackjack is one of the most exciting online casino games. Why? Because it’s quick and it’s strategic. A lot of novices think that the game of Blackjack is as simple as beating the dealer’s hand by getting as close to 21 as possible without busting (i.e. going over 21). If it were THAT simple, then EVERYONE would win. That’s where the strategies come into play. Strategies like doubling down, splitting, and even card counting help to advance your blackjack skills and increase your earning potential. But before we get into all of that, let’s go back to Basics.

Blackjack is also known as 21. There may be several Players at a Blackjack table, as well as the dealer. When playing Blackjack it’s important to remember that you are playing against the Dealer and NOT against the other Players as in the game of Poker.
Another significant thing to note is that the value of the cards; NOT the suit of the cards is what is important. The value of the card depends on the number associated with each card. So, the card 5 is valued at 5 and the card 10 is valued at 10. Jacks, Queens, and Kings are called Face Cards, and they are also valued at 10. The Ace card is valued at either 1 or 11. So, if you are dealt a hand consisting of a 3 and a King, then your hand is worth 13 (3 + 10 = 13). Throw an Ace into the mix and you end up with 14 NOT 24, because 24 will cause your hand to “bust” or to go over 21, which is not what you want to do at any point.
The Dealer begins the game by dealing cards to each Player starting with the first Player on his left, moving clockwise around the table, and ending with himself. All Players’ cards are dealt face up, while the Dealer’s first card is dealt face down. A second round of cards is dealt in the same order to the Players first, then the Dealer. Once again the Players cards are dealt face up and so is the Dealer’s card. Players decide whether to draw more cards (usually referred to as a “Hit”) or to Stand (i.e. not take any more cards). When all Player cards are dealt, the Dealer then proceeds to draw cards to complete his hand. The Dealer must continue to draw cards until his total is 17 or more. If his total, however, is a soft 17 (meaning the combination cards includes an Ace, in this case, an Ace and a 6), the Dealer will draw more cards until his total is a Hard 17 or more.
The Player wins if he has the coveted Blackjack (Ace and a Face Card or Ace and a Ten), any card combination that totals 21, or a higher hand than the Dealer. The Player loses if his total card combination is less than that of the Dealer’s or if he busts. A tie or “push” occurs when both the Player and the Dealer have the same total. In the case of a push neither party wins nor loses and monies bet by the Players are returned to them.
Now that you know the basics, you’re ready to make a bet!

How to Play Poker - Part 2

Lesson 2: The Betting

Poker is a game all about betting. As Kenny Rogers sang, "You got to know when to hold 'em; know when to fold 'em" At the beginning of each hand, each player typically places a small amount of money, known as the ante, into the center of the table. Some forms of poker use alternatives to antes such as blind bets, which are used in hold 'em poker games. These bets form the initial pot, which will go to the winner of the hand. At certain times during the deal and play of a hand, players may make additional bets, increasing the value of the pot. Whenever a player bets, other players must match the bet in order to continue playing. This is known as seeing the bet or calling the bet. Players may also raise to increase the amount of the bet or drop out of the hand. Dropping out of a hand in called folding. Players may fold when they know they have no chance of winning the pot. When a player folds he forfeits the money that he has added to the pot but does not have to add any additional money as the other players continue to bet. If all players fold except for one then that player automatically wins the pot.

Poker betting rules can vary greatly depending on which variation of the game is being played. Most games are limit games, where there is a maximum amount players may bet or raise, as well as a maximum number of raises allowed per round of betting. High-stakes games are sometimes pot limit games, in which the current size of the pot determines the maximum allowable bet, or no-limit games, in which players' bets are limited only by the amount of money they have brought to the table.

Good Luck!!!

How to Play Poker - Part 1

Lesson 1: The Basics

There are really two different things you must learn when you want to learn how to play poker. The first is the basics of the game and the second how to bet in poker.

To begin with, poker is a classic gambling game played with a standard deck of playing cards. The object of poker is to arrange groups of cards together into sets commonly known as hands. There are so many different variations of poker that it is difficult to go into to much detail when discussing poker in general. If your looking to learn how to play a particular poker variation check the other poker courses offered.

A hand of poker is won by the player with the highest-ranking hand among the players who are still in the game at the end of the betting. The goal of playing poker isn't simply to win a lot of hands. The goal it's to win as much money as possible! Over a series of many deals, successful players will be ones who maximize their winnings on the deals they win while minimizing their losses on the deals they lose.

The highest-ranking hand in poker is five cards of the same value or five of a kind. However, a five of a kind is only possible in a game with wild cards. The highest-ranking hand in a poker game without wild cards is the straight flush. The hand rankings from highest to lowest are as follows; five of a kind, straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, three of a kind, two pair, one pair, high card. When two hands are of the same rank, the tiebreak depends on the type of hand. For a detailed description of each hand see Poker 112: Poker Hands.

For straight flushes, flushes, straights, and nothing, the hand containing the highest card wins. Thus, the straight Q-J-10-9-8 beats the straight J-10-9-8-7. It would also beat 5-4-3-2-A, because the ace is being used as a low card in this case. If there is a tie between high cards, the second-highest cards are compared, and so on downward, until one card is higher than another. For example, the flush A-10-4-3-2 beats the flush A-9-8-7-6 because the 10 is higher than the 9. If all five cards are identical except for suit, the hands are equal and the pot is shared equally between the winning players. For example, a royal flush in spades would tie with a royal flush in diamonds.
For four of a kind and three of a kind, the hand with the higher ranking matched set wins; 7-7-7-3-2 beats 6-6-6-A-K because sevens are higher than sixes. Unmatched cards matter only if the sets are equal; K-K-J-3-2 beats K-K-9-8-7 because the jack beats the 9.

For full houses, the highest three of a kind determines the winner. If the three of a kinds have the same rank then the higher pair wins, otherwise the ranks of the pairs are ignored. For two pair and pair, the hand with the highest pair wins.
