Grandly located on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada, the MGM Grand is the largest hotel resort in the United States. It also houses shops, night clubs, restaurants and the largest casino in Clark County. This building has more than 2,500 gaming machines and 139 tables for poker and other table games. Slot machines are everywhere, too, and those found at the High Limit Slots area have payouts of up to $500,000. Race and sportsbook is available too, with the betting area being graced with 36 60-inch plasma TVs and 24 42-inch plasmas. Sports ranges from soccer to boxing and more.
When MGM first opened for business, its intention was to create the first true destination hotel, with a MGM Grand Adventures Theme Park right behind the casino. This is to make the entire premise more family friendly through offering activities for those who are too young to enter the casinos. However, the theme park performed poorly and never reopened again since 2001.
